Sensors are only as good as their calibrations!  That is why Vatell Corporation takes all of our calibrations very seriously.  We use the most up to date techniques and follow a well established, documented standard procedure to perform calibrations on new transducers and recalibrations on existing ones.  All Vatell Sensors come with a certified calibration sheet and appropriate documentation to correlate your sensor's output to the corresponding heat flux.

It is important to keep your transducer accurate:

• The sensing mechanism is stable, however, changes in the coating may cause drift in the overall characteristic of the transducer.
• The transducer sensitivity is a function of the surface condition.  To maintain accuracy the measuring surface should be recoated at regular intervals, followed by recalibration.
• More frequent recalibration is recommended for transducers which are directly placed in a flame, or those whose measuring surface coating is visibly damaged.
• Regularly inspect the measuring surface for physical damage, build up of soot or ash.  These will cause a change in the sensitivity and impair the accuracy of your measurements.
